Bob Jackson has been re-elected to his second term as PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for BC at the BC Regional Convention, held April 25 to 27 in Vancouver.
Prior to being elected to his first term as REVP in 2011, Bob worked at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for over thirty years, was the Agriculture Union Regional Vice President for eighteen years, and held many positions in his Local. As REVP, Bob’s sits on the Alliance Executive Committee, where his portfolio includes Health and Safety, the Environment, and TC Group Bargaining.
Delegates also elected Jamey Mills as Alternate REVP by acclamation.
Jamey is a member of UTE Local 20027 and works at the Vancouver Tax Service Office. He is also the President of the PSAC Vancouver Area Council and will serve his fourth term on the BC Regional Council: he was first elected to Council in 2005, as the Young Workers Representative. Jamey is particularly active around community and social justice issues.
“I’m honoured to have been re-elected and look forward to working closely with Jamey, the new and returning Council members, and PSAC members across the province over the next three years.” said Bob in his address to Convention delegates.
“By working together we can and we will push back against cuts to public services, defend our collective agreements, and continue to be a proud and visible Union in our worksites and in our communities.”
