PSAC is happy to announce that a new collective agreement has been ratified by the members of PSAC/UCTE Local 20215, working at the Prince Rupert Airport.

The Prince Rupert Airport bargaining team, comprised of Barry Tchir, Brian Deschamp and Erna Post are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement for PSAC/UCTE members working at the airport authority has been achieved. The bargaining team met with the employer on July 23 and 24 in Prince Rupert and both sides worked hard to reach a fair tentative agreement, which the team is recommending that the membership vote in favour of. A ratification meeting is being scheduled and the full tentative agreement package will be available at that time.

In a recent report to Parliament, the House of Commons Finance Committee has told the federal government not to privatize Canada’s airports.

Municipalities are starting to add their voices to the growing opposition to the idea of selling Canada’s airports. Opposition to the move has already been voiced by the cities of Vancouver, Victoria, and Richmond, BC, while Calgary’s mayor has publicly spoken out against the plan. Toronto City Council is considering a motion to oppose the plan as well.

PSAC is happy to announce that a new collective agreement has been ratified by members of PSAC/UCTE Local 20221 working at ARINC, who provide IT support and help-desk services at Vancouver International Airport.

Members of the two bargaining units of the Public Service Alliance of Canada/Union of Canadian Transportation Employees working at Swissport Canada Fuel Services at Vancouver International Airport have ratified new collective agreements, expiring in 2018. The bargaining teams would like to thank members for their support during a tough round of negotiations.

Find your local union contact and your collective agreement By choosing their employer, their job classification and the closest city to where they live, PSAC member can get phone and web contact information for their component or local as well as a link to their collective agreement.  The system is aimed at getting PSAC members answers to their questions about their job faster.

PSAC will be conducting a large poll of the membership as part of its ongoing process to ensure that your voices are heard and that your priorities are reflected in the work of our union.Environics Research Group, a well-known and respected polling firm, will be conducting the online survey for PSAC, asking questions about union priorities.

To: PSAC DCL and Separate Employer Unit Locals.Per section 9 of the PSAC BC Regional Bylaws, we will be holding an election for a delegate to represent Directly Chartered Locals and Separate Employer Units (who are not entitled to an automatic delegate) at the upcoming PSAC BC Regional Convention.

PSAC is happy to announce that a new Collective Agreement has been ratified by members of UCTE Local 20221, members employed directly by the Airport Authority.The new contract, which expires in December 2016 includes wage increases, an increase to the extended health plan, improvements to family related leave and improvements to language regarding casual part-time employees.
