Political Action

Our union, along with concerned Canadians in communities across the country, has been working hard to save public services and protect jobs. We are all affected by cuts to services, and we must all take action to defend the public services PSAC members provide to Canadians.

The federal government is set to push through Bill C-38, its 450-page omnibus budget bill. The Conservatives are following a similar pattern as in the previous few years – cramming dozens of major legislative changes in the budget implementation bill, leaving little time for study or debate.

Convention delegates and observers merged with a thousand other demonstrators, including PSAC members in the NCR, in front of the Prime Minister's Office Tuesday, chanting “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Stephen Harper's got to go,” and stood together to denounce the cuts to public services.

VANCOUVER, April 11, 2012 /CNW/ - The Public Service Alliance  of Canada, the largest federal public sector union in the country, says that over 5,000 federal public service workers in 23 Government Departments received notices today saying they could lose their jobs.
