PSAC’s Social Justice Fund is working with CoDevelopment Canada (CoDev) to offer a group of young activists from our union an important and unique opportunity to see first hand the beneficial outcomes of union international solidarity and social justice programs.

Every three years, the PSAC holds its Triennial National Convention, where delegates from across the union come together, debate issues and set direction for the Union for the next three years.We will be doing something new at the PSAC 2012 Convention: for the first time, delegates will have the opportunity to debate and adopt a “Members’ Plan”.The plan is designed to set the direction for the Union for the next three years.

Are you passionate and active in international solidarity, social justice, and young worker issues?PSAC BC, with the help of the PSAC Social Justice Fund, has recently been given the opportunity to sponsor a member as part of CoDevelopment Canada's Young Worker's delegation to Honduras and El Salvador. To mark this year's International Youth Day, August 12th, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) have joined forces to draw attention to the many challenges facing Canadian youth today.

The year has so-far been filled with several events and opportunities! Coming up from July 13-17 at the University of Victoria, there will be a Summer Institute for Union Women. The theme is "Putting Women in their Places...in our Union, in Politics and in our Communities".

I am pleased to share that on May 13-15, 2011 at the B.C. Regional Convention we had the largest contingent of young worker delegates and observers to date!With fourteen young workers taking part as either delegates or observers in one of the highest decision-making bodies for the PSAC in the B.C. Region we have high hopes young worker participation will continue to grow our Union.As a result of an election process at Convention:
