Last weekend members who work at Purolator Inc. from local UPCE 20095 educated themselves on their union, the collective bargaining process, discussed work place issues, and elected their bargaining team.

Your bargaining team members are Joanne Hay, Karen Hirst, Amanda Dawe, and Sandra Jewitt as an alternate.

Background

The FB bargaining team returned to the bargaining table in June 2012. No progress was made as CBSA/Treasury Board continued to insist on concessions and rejected our call for parity with other federal enforcement workers under the Ministry of Public Safety.

As per federal law, the FB bargaining team subsequently contacted the Public Service Labour Relations Board this spring when negotiations reached impasse

Steady progress is being made to put the outstanding issues at the TC bargaining table before a Public Interest Commission.

PSAC and Treasury Board have agreed on a chairperson for the PIC, and have both named their sidespersons. All of these individuals have now been formally appointed by the Public Service Labour Relations Board, and have been tasked with identifying mutually agreeable dates to meet.

Meet James Little and Sam Wiese - they help coordinate Health & Safety related initiatives in the BC Region. This is the first of a series of short videos we'll be producing featuring H&S, and the PSAC BC Regional Health & Safety Committee - stay tuned for more!

On July 3, PSAC started the process of negotiating a new collective agreement with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).  The union sent a notice to the Agency that we want to bargain changes to the current agreement that ends on October 31, 2012.
