Virtual Talking Union Basics course

December 5 2023 - December 7 2023

9 AM - 3 PM December 5 & 6 - 9AM-2PM December 7

Virtual

Facilitator: Varinder Johal, Robert Strang & Jackie Pierre

This is the union’s key introductory course, held in a virtual setting.

If you have wondered what it means to be a union member, how the PSAC works, felt curious about Labour History, and wanted to know more about your rights, then Talking Union Basics (TUB) provides answers to these questions. The course also introduces the collective agreement, what the collective bargaining process looks like and provides an introduction to the grievances. You will learn about the many opportunities to be active in the union and ways you can make a contribution to building strong locals in the B.C. region.

It is recommended that members take TUB first, as it provides the basic knowledge you need to get the most from other PSAC courses.

PLEASE NOTE! You must commit to completing all seven (7) modules.

This virtual training will be offered using the Zoom platform.  We recommend having access to a computer with a camera and reliable internet connection to make the education experience more interactive and enjoyable.

Loss of salary will be provided if required, in accordance with provisions in your collective agreement.

This virtual version of the TUB consists of 7 modules of 2 to 3 hours each over three days.

December 5 and December 6 9AM – 3PM, December 7 9AM – 2PM
