Join the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC BC) and the Greater Victoria Teachers’ Assocition (GVTA) on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 PM for an important evening of discussion and democracy! The Victoria-Beacon Hill Provincial Election Candidates Forum is your opportunity to hear directly from the candidates running in the Victoria-Beacon Hill riding. Attending are:

Hosted at the James Bay Community Centre, this event is open to PSAC BC union members and the general public. We encourage everyone in the area to attend—whether you’re a first-time voter or a seasoned participant in provincial elections, your voice and vote matter.

Why Attend?
Voting is one of the most direct ways to shape the future of our communities. It’s a key pillar of democracy, and the outcomes of elections impact all aspects of our daily lives—housing, healthcare, the environment, and more. This forum is a chance to engage with the candidates, ask questions on the issues that matter most, and make an informed decision on election day.

What’s at Stake?
The candidates running in the Victoria-Beacon Hill riding will be asked to share their positions on pressing topics such as:

  • Housing affordability and availability: What plans do the candidates have to tackle the housing crisis? How will they ensure that everyone in our community has access to safe and affordable housing?
  • Cost of living: From rising grocery prices to higher utility bills, many residents are feeling the pinch. What policies will the candidates implement to address this growing issue and provide relief to those who need it most?
  • Healthcare: As wait times increase and the need for services grows, what is the future of healthcare in Victoria, and how will the candidates work to improve it?
  • Climate action: With environmental concerns increasingly urgent, what role will Victoria-Beacon Hill play in the provincial effort to combat climate change?

What to Expect:

  • A moderated discussion with the candidates running for the Victoria-Beacon Hill provincial seat.
  • The chance to ask questions and hear their positions on crucial issues affecting our community.
  • Insights into how each candidate plans to address the cost of living, healthcare, housing, and other critical concerns.

Bring your friends, neighbours, and family—let’s work together to ensure that every voice in our community is heard. We look forward to seeing you there!

Your vote is your voice. Be part of shaping the future of Victoria-Beacon Hill by joining us on October 16th!
