Friends,

We are pleased to announce that the 2024 PSAC BC Young Workers Summit will be held at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver from Saturday, October 5 to Sunday, October 6, 2024 under the theme Together We Rise: Empower, Engage, Evolve.

The Summit is scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday, October 6from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

We encourage you to share this information with your networks and to inform PSAC Young Worker members in the BC Region to ensure they are aware of the Summit.

SUMMIT OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the 2024 PSAC BC Young Workers Summit are:

  • To gather PSAC Young Workers in B.C. in person to discuss issues and present those issues to the broader PSAC Membership;
  • To provide an opportunity to hear from, share experiences and talk about challenges faced by those in leadership positions (past and present) who have mobilized around these issues;
  • To gain skills and tools on how to effect change in our political landscape inside and outside of the union; and
  • To challenge participants to develop their own political action skills and empower them to bring these skills to their respective Young Worker Committees.

PSAC BC members in good standing who identify as Young Workers (35 years of age and younger) may apply to be delegates to this Summit. Priority will be given to members who are active in Young Workers’ Committees and those who are engaged with young worker issues in the union, workplace and/or their community. The selection of delegates will consider representation such as geography, Component/DCL, gender and equity groups.

The application deadline is Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:59 PM Pacific. You can apply using the online form available here. If you require an alternate format for your application, please contact the PSAC Victoria Regional Office at (250) 953-1050 or Toll-free at 1 (866) 953-1050.
