SUMMIT OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the 2024 PSAC BC Young Workers Summit are:
- To gather PSAC Young Workers in B.C. in person to discuss issues and present those issues to the broader PSAC Membership;
- To provide an opportunity to hear from, share experiences and talk about challenges faced by those in leadership positions (past and present) who have mobilized around these issues;
- To gain skills and tools on how to effect change in our political landscape inside and outside of the union; and
- To challenge participants to develop their own political action skills and empower them to bring these skills to their respective Young Worker Committees.
PSAC BC members in good standing who identify as Young Workers (35 years of age and younger) may apply to be delegates to this Summit. Priority will be given to members who are active in Young Workers’ Committees and those who are engaged with young worker issues in the union, workplace and/or their community. The selection of delegates will consider representation such as geography, Component/DCL, gender and equity groups.
