About Tracy Arrowsmith

Tracy Arrowsmith (she/her) is PSAC BC’s Health & Safety Coordinator and Executive Steward with UTE Local 20002. Her union activism started in 2006 when she first served as Executive Steward, a role she’s held on and off for 18 years. Tracy has also served in several union leadership roles including Local Vice-President, PSAC BC Women’s Committee Co-Chair, and PSAC BC Northeastern BC Area Council President. In 2022, Tracy was awarded PSAC BC’s Community Champion Award for her commitment to community activism.

Tracy sits on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee at her workplace and participates in the BC Federation of Labour’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Her passion for health and safety was ignited in 2016 after her husband was assaulted by a patient in his workplace. Since then, she’s been dedicated to advocating for health and safety as an integral part of all workplaces. In her role as Health & Safety Coordinator, Tracy will continue to grow the BC Regional Safety and Health (BRUSH) Committee, actively engage members, collaborate with H&S Coordinator Alternates to organize webinars and guest speakers for the BRUSH community. Tracy also intends to conduct site visits when she can arrange for them to align with other Union functions.

Tracy graduated from Simon Fraser university in 2001 with a Bachelor of Education focusing on human kinetics and elementary school. She’s a Team Leader at Canada Revenue Agency, where she’s worked for 26 years.

Tracy was born and raised in Surrey and moved to Prince George in 2001 for her husband to attend university. They loved the area so much they decided to stay! She loves fishing and recently bought a fishing kayak so she no longer has to fish from the shore. When she’s not out on the water, you’ll find her cheering on the Vancouver Canucks and the BC Lions.
