About Sharon Cowie
Sharon (she/her) is one of three Metro Vancouver Coordinators on PSAC BC’s Regional Council and also serves as Co-Chair on the Vancouver Regional Women’s Committee and UTE Local 20027 President, a role she’s held for nine years. Sharon has been a dedicated activist for 25 years and has served UTE members in leadership positions with her local such as Secretary and Alternate Regional Vice-President. Sharon also sits on the National Union Management Approach Committee at UTE.
Sharon first became involved in union activism when a friend of hers, the then Local President, convinced her to join the local executive. Since then, she’s been committed to building solidarity and fighting for fair workplaces.
In her role as Metro Vancouver Coordinator, Sharon looks forward to meeting and engaging with more members. Sharon believes it’s important now more than ever that we stand together and fight for ours and others rights.
Outside of union activism and work, you can find Sharon traveling and lawn bowling.
