Registration extended for Metro Vancouver members to attend the PSAC BC Indigenous Peoples Gathering

We are pleased to announce that the registration deadline for the PSAC BC Indigenous Peoples Gathering has been extended to Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time, specifically for PSAC BC Indigenous members residing or working in the Metro Vancouver area, which includes the West Fraser Valley.

The Gathering takes place November 13โ€“15, 2026, at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront in Vancouver, BC.

An opportunity to be part of our Gathering

The Gathering Organizing Committee, in consultation with the Regional Executive Vice-Presidentโ€™s Office, is extending the opportunity for Indigenous members in these catchment areas to apply to attend.

We want to ensure that our Gathering reflects the diversity of Indigenous members across British Columbia and includes the voices, experiences, cultures and perspectives of members from all parts of the BC Region.

If you are an Indigenous PSAC member residing or working in the Metro Vancouver catchment area and have not yet applied, we encourage you to take advantage of this extended opportunity to apply! The Gathering will bring Indigenous members together in the spirit of respect, relationship, and reciprocity, with opportunities to participate in cultural teachings, workshops, sharing circles, and meaningful dialogue. Together, we will strengthen connections, honour our diverse Nations and traditions, and build collective capacity.

Our Gathering theme: Strengthening our Community by Learning, Sharing, and Honouring Our Cultures

The Gathering will provide space to learn from one another, share knowledge and experiences, honour our cultural roots and ancestral strength, and strengthen our collective voice as Indigenous members within PSAC BC.

The Gathering’s objectives include:

  • Honouring Cultural Roots and Ancestral Strength by celebrating the land, traditions, and protocols passed down through generations
  • Cultivating Lateral Kindness and Healing Communities and exploring ways to build safe, supportive, and healthy environments
  • Amplifying Collective Voices and Building Leadership Capacity across our workplaces, communities, and union
  • Leveraging Union Tools to Empower Indigenous Members and strengthen our collective voice within PSAC BC
  • Clarifying Roles and Aligning Governance Pathways, including greater understanding of the National Indigenous Peoples Circle and opportunities for Indigenous members to engage with it
