PSAC BC is offering a new one-hour virtual training session for Treasury Board members who want to learn more about strike basics and where we are in the bargaining process.
We are beginning this training early because the best way to avoid a strike is to be prepared for one. By demonstrating that members are informed, organized and ready to support their bargaining teams, we can also increase pressure on the employer at the bargaining table.
During this workshop, we will discuss:
- What a strike is and the different types of strike action
- Common strike myths and misconceptions
- Strike pay
- Strike structures and member roles
- How members can build support in their workplaces
- Current bargaining updates and next steps
No previous union experience or training is required to attend this virtual session. Any PSAC Treasury Board member in British Columbia who wants to learn more about strikes and how members can prepare is welcome to attend.
