2023 PSAC BC Regional Racially Visible Conference – Centering our Power: Empowerment, Engagement, Advocacy and Union Leadership
Calling for Conference Committee Volunteers
The PSAC-BC Region is holding a Regional Conference for Racially Visible Members from March 17-19, 2023. The location is currently being finalized.
We are currently seeking PSAC members who want to play an important role in this Conference. If you have ideas for conference content or just want to help in the overall organizing, then this role may be for you!
We are looking for:
- A self-identified PSAC Racially Visible member from the B.C. Region – if you haven’t done so in the past, you can self-identify on-line at http://psacbc.com/psac-confidential-self-identification-form
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to commit to the Conference both pre and post-conference.
- Related experience as an asset
Tell us in 300 words or less, why you want to volunteer, if you have any experience serving on an Organizing Committee and/or Resolutions Committee in the union before and what ideas/issues you would like to see the Conference cover.
Please also indicate whether you are interested in Organizing Committee, the Resolutions Committee, or both.
Please note: Committee meetings will normally be held by Zoom teleconference during weeknight evenings. For those selected for the Organizing Committee, you would be meeting fairly regularly once selected, up to the conference. For the Resolutions Committee, most of that work will be done immediately after the resolutions submission deadline up to the conference, which is normally approximately a month before the conference. Members from Conference Committees become automatic delegates to the Conference.
