The purpose of this course is to build meaningful, long-term relationships with Indigenous Peoples inside and outside of our workplaces, with the aim of supporting decolonization and increasing Indigenous Peoples’ representation at work and in the union.

This Advanced course is open to all PSAC BC Region members who have completed PSAC Talking Union Basics (TUB) course (either in person or virtual) or PSAC Our Communities, Our Union, Our Rights: An Introduction to the PSAC for Indigenous Members (OCOUOR) course or equivalent. This course begins the process of providing a basic awareness of Indigenous Peoples’ history and culture as well as contemporary issues.
Approved participants will travel to Harrison Hot Springs on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Classes are held daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (as determined by the facilitators), except Friday when classes end at 11:00 a.m. There will be evening activities related to the course, or related to the CLC Winter school, that participants can attend. A “New Students’ Orientation” will be held in the Forum at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12. See the 2023 CLC Winter School Brochure for more details about the school.
There is a limited number of seats for the course, and all applications for the course will be processed by the PSAC BC Region. Approved applicants will be contacted the first week of December 2022. The PSAC BC Region will be registering approved participants with the CLC Winter School.
