About Darien Gomez

Darien Gomez (he/him & they/them) is your new Indigenous Peoples Coordinator and CEIU Local 20921 Vice-President. Darien’s union activism began three years ago when he became the Health & Safety Representative for his local. Since then, Darien has also served in leadership roles with PSAC BC and CEIU such as Coastal North and Interiors, Rights, Community, Leadership and Engagement (CIRCLE) Committee Treasurer; Local Secretary; and CEIU Indigenous Male Representative on the Human Rights and Race Relations Committee.

During their term as Indigenous Peoples Coordinator, Darien is keen to build relationships with local First Nations and Métis communities in BC and to connect with and engage Indigenous members throughout the province, especially those in remote areas who are so often overlooked.

Darien is a Program Services Officer at Service Canada, investigating EI claims for discrepancies. Outside of union activism and work, you can find Darien crafting, playing board games, paddle boarding, and four-wheeling.
