The Mainland-Haida Gwaii Young Workers Committee wants to hear from you! We are pleased to announce our first Young Workers Caucus. This caucus is a space for the Committee to bring young workers together for good food and good discussion on Committee events, goals, interests, and needs. This is your committee, and the executive wants you to have a say in how we spend our budget, time, and effort.

Who’s invited?

We welcome Young Workers (those 35 years old or younger) in B.C. Unfortunately we can’t at this time accommodate travel to the event, but if you live or work in B.C. and can make it, we’d love to see you there! Those who can’t make it are more than welcome to reach out to us via Discord, WhatsApp, or email to share your thoughts and feedback directly (including if you’d like us to host a virtual caucus).

What’s the event?

The Young Workers Caucus will be a causal get-together to chat about our goals and plans for the Committee. We’ll eat some food, catch up, and talk about what you’d like to see from your union. Nothing formal — we just want to touch base, connect, and hear feedback about how we can better serve our membership.

Did you say food?

Yep! The Committee has moved some funds to pay for some food for everyone. We’ll share details closer to, but we’ll pay for you to get a sandwich, a drink, some baked goods, and/or the café’s famous soufflé pancakes! What’s more, we hope to have some other non-food goodies to give out for those who attend.
