Vigil for the National Day of Remembrance and Action On Violence Against Women
Friday, December 6
12:00 PM -
Antechamber of City Hall (1 Centennial Square), Victoria
The City of Victoria and Victoria Mayor Marianne Alto will be hosting a commemorative vigil to honour the 14 lives tragically lost to violence on December 6, 1989 at Polytechnique Montréal. This act of violent misogyny shook our country and led Parliament to designate December 6 as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women tragic events of the 1989 Montreal Massacre.
PSAC BC members are invited to attend this public event in the Antechamber of City Hall (1 Centennial Square) at 12:00 for stories, candle lighting, and a moment of silence. Attendees are encouraged to wear white, the official colour of remembrance for the Montreal Massacre, or purple, the colour for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence campaign. Purple ribbons will be available for attendees at the event.
