Rally to Oppose YVR Airport Privatization

PSAC-UCTE members, supporters and labour partners will come together at YVR to raise our voices about the potential privatization of one of Canada’s most important airports and the implications for airport workers, travelers, and the communities YVR serves.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Date: Saturday, October 31, 2026
Time: 12-2 PM
Location: YVR Airport’s Chester Johnson Park (outside International Departures)

Free snacks will be available for attendees.

Getting there

Meet us at Chester Johnson Park located outside the International Arrivals parkade at YVR Airport.

What to expect

Hear from PSAC National President, Sharon DeSousa, UCTE National President, Barry Tchir, and BC Federation of Labour President, Sussanne Skidmore.

We are working with our regional and labour partners to finalize the rally details, and we will share additional information with members shortly.

What to bring

Come dressed for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. UCTE will have campaign signs, flags, and other materials available for participants.

Members are encouraged to wear PSAC and UCTE union colours or clothing.

Please do not bring homemade signage unless approved and consistent with campaign messaging.

We are also looking for rally volunteers and marshals to assist with participant welcome, campaign materials, setup, and other day-of activities.
