First Nations Health Authority bargaining ongoing, team discusses non-monetary demands

The Local 22000 bargaining team, comprised of Devin Bagri, Dan Ferguson, Audrey Henry, PSAC negotiator Seth Sazant, and PSAC research officer Darren Pacione, supported by PSAC regional representative Monica Urrutia, met with First Nations Health Authority on May 16, 17, and 18 to continue negotiating a new collective agreement.

Some progress was made at the table around non-monetary demands, however the employer has so far refused to agree to any changes to protect members’ ability to telework or provide better language around job security. The bargaining team will continue to push for fair changes on these issues.

Both parties will be meeting again in mid-June and is anticipated that monetary improvements will be tabled. The FNHA bargaining team will be seeking various enhancements, including a fair wage increase, improved vacation leave, health benefits and overall working conditions, as well as provisions for severance pay.

Members working at FNHA are encouraged to keep their contact information up to date and to reach out the bargaining team with any questions.

Approximately 120 members of PSAC Local 22000 work at FNHA, supporting their mandate to plan, design, manage, deliver and fund the delivery of First Nations Health Programs in British Columbia and to carry out other health and wellness related functions to First Nations communities and citizens across the province.
