Your First Nations Health Authority bargaining team met with the employer to begin the process of renewing your collective agreement.
Based on the input that we received from members, we tabled a full list of proposals to provide a fair and strong agreement for everyone. The key elements of our proposal include:
- Strong economic increases for everyone
- Ensuring job security and protecting people from possible negative impacts of regionalization
- Improvements to our health benefits
- Increases to vacation leave
- Creating more promotion opportunities for FNHA employees, and treating term employees fairly
The employer also tabled their proposals, which included a number of concessions. We will be working hard to push back on any negative changes to your collective agreement.
In the first days, we began talking about the non-monetary items and made some limited progress. Of note, we raised the issue of difficult phone calls that assessors sometimes receive, and the employer has agreed to change the recorded message that clients will hear to state that abusive language will not be tolerated. We will begin to talk about monetary issues in the coming sessions.
We will be meeting with the employer again in the fall to continue the process, and we’ll provide an update after each time we meet. Please continue to stay informed and feel free to talk with any team member if you have questions.
