About Jennifer Horsley
Jennifer Horsley (she/her) is the Directly Chartered Locals and Separate Employer Units Coordinator on the PSAC BC Regional Council, the UPCE Local 20095 President, and the Vancouver Area Council President. A dedicated union activist for almost two decades, Jennifer has held several positions in her union on a Local, Regional and National level including on two bargaining teams and as a member of the employer’s Pay Equity Committee.
The Area Council is considered the political arm of PSAC and, as the President, Jennifer conducts public outreach at community events, lobbies politicians, and engages members across locals and components. Her role on the PSAC BC Regional Council puts her in the unique position of representing the priorities of members who are not necessarily part of the traditional Government of Canada public service.
Jennifer’s union activism was first initiated when UPCE experienced a disappointing round of bargaining. When the President at the time was not re-elected, Jennifer was nominated as Secretary.
Jennifer works for Purolator, which has clerical members represented in British Columbia by PSAC. Most of her career was spent as a frontline retail worker, but has been an internal worker for the past five years. She currently works as a problem solver, using her many years experience to solve problems and find packages that have fallen through the scanning cracks for customers.
Involvement with her union has offered Jennifer many educational opportunities and allowed her to meet people from coast to coast. She is most proud of her graduation from the Canadian Labour Congress’ Labour College of Canada. Her passions are health, safety, and human rights.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys knitting, sewing, and crafting.
