About Josée Tremblay
Josée Tremblay (she/her) is PSAC BC’s North Vancouver Island Coordinator, representing members on Vancouver Island north of and including the Malahat, as well as Powell River and the Sunshine Coast. Josée also serves as a Bargaining Team member for Parks Canada and is the President of Local 29266. Josée has long been an advocate for human rights and a long-time supporter of Amnesty International.
As a dedicated activist with PSAC for more than a decade, Josée began her career as a term employee and experienced firsthand the challenges and uncertainties that many term employees face. Like many members, Josée was significantly impacted by the Phoenix pay system, which reinforced her commitment to the union. In 2019, her commitment to union activism was recognized when she received the UNE Local Activist Award. Over time, she became involved in a variety of union activities, including serving on the bargaining team and, more recently, becoming active on the Area Council. She enjoys connecting with members, union staff, and fellow representatives, and appreciated the many learning opportunities that union involvement provides.
Josée believes that being involved in the union provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, not only for our members but also within our communities. Whether it’s organizing a food bank drive, distributing candy at a local festival, or supporting colleagues through workplace challenges, she values the chance to contribute and help create positive change both inside and outside the workplace. In her role as North Vancouver Island Coordinator, Josée looks forward to continuing to learn, listen, and work collaboratively to address members’ concerns and help move our union forward.
Outside of work and union activities, Josée enjoys spending time in nature. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, sitting around a campfire, and swimming in the ocean or local lakes. She also enjoys exploring local farmers’ and artisan markets, supporting local vendors, and connecting with the community. These activities help her recharge and appreciate the beautiful places and people that North Vancouver Island has to offer.
