Krista Tebbutt

Access Coordinator

About Krista Tebbutt

Krista Tebbutt is PSAC BC’s Access Coordinator, representing the voices of members who identify as part of the disability community. With more than a decade of union activism experience, Krista is also the USJE Local 20130 Chief Shop Steward, USJE’s Alternate Regional Executive Vice-President, and was USJE Local 20054 President for four years.

Krista first became involved in union activism after a negative employer response to an accommodation need. From this firsthand impact, Krista wanted to step up and use her experience to help others. Now a passionate and experienced advocate for workplace duty to accommodate, Krista is often called upon for advice and to advocate or represent members in their fight for workplace accommodations.

In her second term as Access Coordinator, Krista will continue to focus on mentoring up-and-coming activist leaders, advocating for accommodations, and building allyship, especially with the other four equity coordinators on Regional Council. She will also continue facilitating with the Joint Learning Program, which was co-developed by PSAC and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat to improve workplace relationships and to deepen understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the union and the employer.

Outside of work and union activism, you can find Krista spending time with her kids and pets.
