New Collective Agreement Ratified at Victoria Airport

Approximately 30 workers at Victoria International Airport have a new collective agreement.

Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) / Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 20209 working at the airport voted Friday to ratify a tentative agreement reached last week.

Highlights of the four-year contract, which expires in March 2020, include fair wage increases, an increase in standby pay and meal allowances, improvements to the benefits package, and the inclusion of the firefighters group in the contract language around shift premiums.

“I’d like to thank the bargaining team for their work on behalf of PSAC,” said Bob Jackson, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President for BC, “and I’d like to thank our members at the airport – their support of the team during this round of bargaining contributed greatly to the success of this round of negotiations.”

PSAC/UCTE represents workers employed directly by the Victoria Airport Authority, providing key services such as emergency response, customer care, maintenance, IT and administrative services.
