Our thoughts are with PSAC members at Fisheries and Oceans Canada

It was with great sadness that I learned of the tragic car accident that took the life of Ann Strutt and injured Patricia DeMille, both of whom are PSAC members who work at the Fisheries and Oceans Canada office in Prince Rupert.

Sister Strutt was a long time DFO employee and a steward in UHEW Local 20147 where she mentored and inspired countless union activists over the years. She was also a highly respected and well liked member of the community, where she served on the Board of the Prince Rupert Unemployed Action Centre Society.

Ann will be greatly missed by the community, her colleagues and by our union. I can only imagine the effect that this terrible accident is having on people in Prince Rupert and in the DFO community.

On behalf of all the PSAC members in BC and across the country, I offer our condolences to her family and her friends.

Our thoughts are also with Sister DeMille and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.

In Sadness and Solidarity,

Jamey Mills
