About Patricia “Trish” Martin
At the heart of everything Patricia “Trish” Martin (she/her) does is a commitment to supporting members, building relationships, and helping create a stronger, more engaged union movement. She’s a dedicated and driven activist who has been involved with PSAC and CEIU Local 20975 for almost two decades. In the past 17 years, she has proudly served in a variety of leadership roles, including as Local Secretary, Vice-President, President, and Chief Shop Steward; Victoria Area Council Vice-President and President; and, most recently, the PSAC BC Alternate Regional Executive Vice President (Alt REVP).
Trish is passionate about grassroots membership engagement, mobilization, and building strong connections within our union. She believes in mentoring activists, empowering members, and creating an inclusive and active labour movement where every member feels heard, valued, and involved. Notably, she helps organize Solidarity Saturdays, which brings members together in a relaxed environment to connect, share experiences, and strengthen union community.
In her role as Alt REVP, Trish will continue to build strong connections with members across British Columbia. Trish believes that strong unions are built when members feel welcomed, encouraged, and confident to contribute. That’s why she’s making it a priority to encourage participation and help members discover opportunities to grow within the union. If you’re interested in learning new skills, taking on new challenges, or becoming more active in your Local and region, Trish is there to support.
Outside of her union work, Trish is committed to community service and volunteers regularly to support food security initiatives and vulnerable members of our communities. These experiences have reinforced her belief that solidarity extends beyond our workplaces and into the communities where we live.
Trish lives on Vancouver Island with her two Bengal cats, Jax (5) and Loki (4), who are always up to something and keeping her on her toes!
