We observe this day each year to raise awareness of Missing and Murdered, Indigenous women and girls and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+) in Canada. Thank you to artist Jaime Black for the Red Dress project, which initiated the symbolism of the Red Dress as a call to honour and remember.
We invite you to learn more about and share what you learn with your family and friends. Be sure to take care of your mental health while you are doing this learning. There are several links to information below. These links were compiled by Indigenous women. We ask you to hear Indigenous women when they speak. Display a red dress and wear red on this day to show your support and solidarity with Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit+.
