Support PSAC members working at Granville Island – join the info picket, July 24

Update: July 20, 2021. CMHC management reached out to the bargaining team earlier this morning with a tentative agreement offer that did not contain concessions. Local 20378 are putting this action on hold for the time being, pending a membership vote. Watch for more information as we move forward.

Approximately 60 members of PSAC Local 20738 work at Granville Island, performing a wide variety of administrative, maintenance, and public outreach duties.

These members work hard every day ensuring Granville Island – one of Vancouver’s most popular attractions for tourists and locals alike – runs smoothly and lives up to its mandate as “The most inspiring public place in the world.”

The collective agreement expired March 31, 2020 and the bargaining team has been working hard to win a fair deal, with no concessions.

The team is getting very close to a new collective agreement, now we need YOUR help to push a little harder to make sure members of Local 20378 get a fair deal.

On Saturday July 24, 2021, from 11 AM to 1 PM, the Local Executive, in conjunction with PSAC BC is hosting an information picket near Granville Island to inform the public of our bargaining situation and ask them to send a message to the employer by participating in our email action.

We need your help on Saturday July 24, 2021. Come join us for an hour or two to send a message to the employer.

Sign up using the form on this page and help us send a message to the employer: PSAC members at Granville Island deserve a fair collective agreement, without concessions.

Jamey Mills, PSAC BC Regional Executive Vice President, Kevin King, Union of National Employees National President, and PSAC staff will be at the event all day to ensure members are supported in their work.
