Sent on behalf of Vanessa Miller, B.C. Regional Council Young Worker Coordinator
As you may be aware the BC Federation of Labour Union Renewal Conference is taking place this November 16-18 with the Human Rights Diversity Forum taking place on Sunday, November 15. The Human Rights Diversity Forum is a free event; however, pre-registration is required. There is also supposed to be a Young Worker social after the Diversity Forum. The Forum and Conference are being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver. For more details on the Conference and the Forum, please visit bcfed.ca
If you’re are planning to attend the Forum and the Conference, we’d like to let you know that subsidies are available for self-identified PSAC-BC Young Workers to assist them with conference costs. If you aren’t already a self-identified young worker, you can easily do so here.
If you are a PSAC member 35 years of age or younger and are interested in applying for the subsidy, please provide us with the following information via email to Urrutim@psac.com by Friday, October 23.
1. Send us your name, PSAC ID, email, and contact info
2. Give us a brief rundown of your anticipated costs, other sources of funding that you have already applied for, and monies already granted if applicable
3. Tell us in brief why it is important for you as a young worker to attend this event
4. Explain how you will use this experience to help raise the profile of PSAC young workers in your workplace, union, and/or community
Please note: The subsidy recipient(s) will be required to provide a short report/evaluation of your participation at the BC Fed Union Renewal Conference within 4 weeks following the conference.
The registration deadline for the BC Federation of Labour Union Renewal Conference closes November 6th.
