PSAC BC Education Subsidies for the 2025 Summer Institute for Union Women

The PSAC BC Education Program is offering four (4) education subsidies of up to $1,300 to cover the registration costs for PSAC members who have applied for SIUW. We invite PSAC BC members in good standing who are registering for the SIUW to apply for one of these subsidises to offset the registration fees using the subsidy application below.  On the application you can also indicate other costs that you may incur for attending, excluding Loss of Salary or Leave with Pay. Other costs should be listed in your subsidy application with dollar amounts and may include – mileage, travel costs anticipated, meals to and from the SIUW. You should also include a list of other sources of funding you have sought.

PSAC BC Education will not provide subsidies to cover Loss of salary and will not provide Leave with Pay letters for attending the SIUW. Participants must arrange their own leave for attending and confirm in writing that they have done so before any subsidy amount is paid.

The Deadline to Apply for a Subsidy is Thursday, May 15 at 4:00 PM Pacific.

2025 Summer Institute for Union Women Information and Links

The Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW), will take place from June 22-26, 2025, at Simon Fraser University on the unceded Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Kwikwetlem territories in Burnaby. Registration will fill up quickly, so register as soon as possible. The registration fee is $1,300 and includes all meals and full accommodations during the SIUW. SIUW is a comprehensive leadership institute with skills-building workshops, cultural activities and education sessions designed to expand our understanding of solidarity and rebuild connections across our region. This event is for all cis and trans women, non-binary, queer, questioning, and those who are comfortable in a space that centers our experiences and identities.
