Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council Weekend School: School Information and PSAC Education Subsidy Information

The 2024 Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), in partnership with the Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council (NDDLC), is hosting the NDDLC Weekend School in Nanaimo from Thursday, April 4 to Friday, April 5, 2024. The school will run from 9 AM to 4 PM on both days at the Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo Campus (900 Fifth Street, Nanaimo, B.C.).

There will also be a Labour Appreciation Opening Dinner/Plenary on Wednesday, April 3 at 6 PM, hosted by the United Way BC in partnership with the NDDLC.

There are 20 spots available per course for Labour Affiliates and their members. The cost for registration is $150 per person, which includes lunch and the opening dinner/plenary. If attendees wish to attend just the April 3 dinner, the cost per attendee is $75.

The three courses offered at the Weekend School are:

  1. Member-to-Member Engagement
  2. Intro to Parliamentary Procedure and Tips on Chairing Meetings Effectively
  3. Levelling Up Your Camaign Skills

Please note – PSAC BC registrants are responsible for all costs associated with their attendance, including registration fee, travel expenses, accommodations, loss of salary, etc.

PSAC BC Education Subsidy for the NDDLC Weekend School

The PSAC BC Education Program is offering five (5) education subsidies up to $150 each to PSAC BC members in good standing who are registered for the NDDLC Weekend School.

The deadline for receipt of your PSAC BC subsidy application for the NDDLC Weekend School is Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4:00 PM Pacfic Time Zone. Late applications will not be accepted.
