PSAC BC 2025 regional scholarship program
PSAC BC is pleased to announce the 2025 regional scholarship program is now open. Delegates to the 2023 PSAC BC Regional Convention voted in favour of renewing the PSAC BC Scholarship Program for another three years, beginning in 2024. The PSAC BC program follows the same guidelines as the PSAC national program.

The 2025 PSAC BC program consists of three scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each, which will be awarded as follows:
- One (1) scholarship for a PSAC BC member in good standing or their dependent who self-identifies as a member of an equity-seeking group (Indigenous person, racialized person, person with a disability and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ person). This member or dependent must be attending university, college, or a recognized institute of higher learning on a full-time basis in the fall of 2025.
- One (1) scholarship for the dependent of a PSAC BC member in good standing who will be attending university, college, or a recognized institute of higher learning on a full-time basis in the fall of 2025.
- One (1) scholarship for a PSAC BC member in good standing who will be attending university, college, or a recognized institute of higher learning on a full or part-time basis in the fall of 2025.
PSAC BC scholarships are awarded based on the merit of a 750–850-word essay, YouTube video, infographic, song, or other creative submission answering the applicable scholarship question below. Any media used to create videos/songs/infographics must be original, submitted under the name of the applicant. Sources must be cited to avoid plagiarism.
If the applications received do not meet the 2025 PSAC BC scholarship criteria listed above, the scholarship(s) will be go unawarded for 2025 and will be deferred to the 2026 PSAC BC Scholarship Program.
Scholarship Questions
Question For Members: Beyond Accommodations -Transforming Union Culture: How can PSAC shift from reactive accommodations to proactively designing accessible workplaces, relationships, events, and campaigns? Provide practical examples illustrating this transformation.
Question for Dependents of Members: What does solidarity mean to you? How can youth contribute building fair and just workplaces for he future?
Applicants
Applicants must either be a PSAC BC member in good standing, or the spouse/partner or dependent child of a PSAC BC member in good standing as of March 31, 2025.

Entries will be judged on: Depth of research, originality of expression and quality of argument. Top marks are reserved for those who indicate original thinking/analysis on the essay topic. Sources are to be used for information, not as a substitute for self-expression. All applicants must cite the sources they consult. Any plagiarism from online or other sources is strongly discouraged and will likely lead to the disqualification of submissions.
